Cinderellas & Labels

Cinderellas are also called "Poster Stamps". They are small perforated posters not valid for postage and serve advertising purposes on letters and cards.

Labels are imperforated poster stamps, i.e. without perforated margins. Matchbox labels are a special kind, often printed between 1960 and 1975.

Steve Redgrave won five Olympic gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games:

Los Angeles 1984 (M4+), Seoul 1988 (M2-), Barcelona 1992 (M2-), Atlanta 1996 (M2-) and Sydney 2000 (M4-).

He also won nine gold medals at World Rowing Championships: WRC Nottingham 1986 (M2+), WRC Copenhagen

1987 (M2-), WRC Vienna 1991 (M2-), WRC Radice 1993 (M2-), WRC Indianapolis 1994 (M2-), WRC Tampere

1995 (M2-), WRC Aiguebelette 1997 (M4-), WRC Cologne 1998 (M4-) and WRC St. Catharines 1999 (M4-).

He competed at Henley Royal Regatta for more than two decades winning 17 times in five different events,

among them the Diamond Sculls.

Furthermore he won the Diamond

Sculls at Henley 1957 and 1958.

Rob Waddell won the M1X B-final at

OG Atlanta 1996 (= 7th place),

became M1X World champion in 1998,

defended his title in 1999 and crowned

his career with the M1X gold medal win

at OG Sydney 2000.

Silken Laumann gained the W2X bronze medal

at OG Los Angeles 1984 together with her sister

Danielle. She won the W1X gold medal in 1991

and was the gold medal favourite for OG Barcelona

1992 when ten weeks prior to the Games her right

leg was shattered by an accident in the warm-up area

of regatta Essen (GER). A M4- crew had rammed into

her shell. Told that she would never row again and

after five operations she walked with a cane to her

boat and won the W1X bronze medal.

She finished her career with the W1X silver medal at

OG Atlanta 1996.

FISA introduced traffic rules for the warm-up areas

of regattas after the 1992 incident.
