R. C. Lehmann also coached crews of Leander Club and Berliner RC. He was Hon. Secretary of

the Amateur Rowing Association 1893-1901 and captain of  Leander Club 1894 and 1895. He was

considered an authority on rowing, about which he wrote a book "The Complete Oarsman" (1908).
