In order to test the regatta course and its staff, the Junior World Rowing Championships are staged at the same venue of the Olympic regatta coming in the next year. Therefore Banyoles 1991 was the rehearsal for the Olympic regatta 1992. Peter Gorny (GDR) - M2+ gold medal winner ERC Amsterdam 1964 - had been chosen as team manager for the German team after the re-union of East and West Germany. |
