Karl Adam died one year after this book was published. He introduced intervall training and weightlifing into competitive rowing and taught his crews to change the leverage of oars and sculls according to the types of boats and the wind conditions. His traing methods resulted in a domination of (West)German rowing from 1959-1968. |
